Game Day Recap: OSB wins in Leitershofen
Autor: Omari Knox
OSB Hellenen was able to outlast BG Leitershofen at home over the weekend. It was a very important game for Leitershofen as they are battling with many teams to see who will stay in the league. Each game (as we are down to the final three) becomes more and more important.
Leitershofen started off the game with a 10-6 advantage after the first three minutes of play. Hellenen then came roaring back with 21-6 run of their own to gain an 11-point lead at the end of the first quarter.
The start of the second quarter began with Leitershofen closing with the gap to just three points, with timely baskets from L. Londene, J. Uhlich, and Quentin Tucker. However, the Munich team would respond again with baskets from Omari Knox and Ioannis Vasileiadis, and Ben Kitatu to extend the lead back to nine. Hellenen would head into the locker room at halftime with a 42-35 lead.
The second half featured much of the same, with a back and fourth battle. Leitershofen pulled as close as one point with three minutes left to play in the third quarter. A three point shot by Knox with four seconds left gave Hellenen a 4-point advantage after 30 minutes of play.
Hellenen eventually pulled away in the final quarter. The Munich team was able to stretch the lead to as many as 13 points before going home with the victory 81-70. Omari Knox led all scorers with 39 points. Jermaine Lippert had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Giacomo May and David Markert contributed respectively with 9 points each. OSB Hellenen maintains 6th place. They have a break from gameplay now, before hosting the first-placed Oberhaching Tropics for a huge derby.
